Missing texture. No paint or spackle added to turn this print into an individual piece of art.
First of all, I do need to say that there is really nothing really ‘wrong” with this print. It’s made with quality materials, the canvas is adequately stretched over the thin wooden frame and stapled/nailed in place. The printing is done well and for most people, the print would satisfy them and their needs. However…..For me, I was disappointed. I am use to companies taking their “prints” and adding real paint/spackle to the canvas to add texture and bring out the movement and colors and give the print an overall feeling of being an actual painting with life and a piece of art that’s not mass produced but somewhat special, individual.If you look at the pictures the ad includes, it looks like this print is an actual painting and not a print. If you look at some of my photos from a distance, it’s the same…..it looks like a painting not a print however….Close up….? It looks like a print. Like a fine line drawing made with colored pens. No paint. No texture. No individual beauty. Just a mass produced print with something missing and I know that’s not what they were going for. Or I assume anyway.Other pictures in their line have texture added with paint strokes and spackle troweled over the picture to bring out the lines and colors. Especially once a light is added to the surface where you can see them in more detail. This is what brings the prints to life and gives off the impression that each person who owns a copy has a one of a kind painting and not a mass produced print.This is the reason I removed the stars. Because the photos taken do not look like the print I received even though I am sure it is. It’s either that or I received the one copy that was left undone. Either way, I am unhappy with the print and wanted the painting or piece of art that was being featured for the price.Another reason for a missing star would be the size. It’s advertised at 20 x 40 inches but it’s actually 19.5 x 39.5 inches. That might not be much to some but it could make a difference if you are trying to fit it within a frame that you currently have or that you have previously purchased. I only wanted to remove one and a half stars but there are no halves so, two it is.If you decide to order this print, hopefully you will be more satisfied with yours than I am with mine.
